Our teams are growing rapidly and we’re hiring a Observability Engineer mainly for our managed services that we provide to our customers, but also for our internal projects to build a scalable and reliable platform of common services.

What does an Observability engineer do? 

You will be responsible for helping our clients design, implement, and maintain comprehensive observability platforms that enable them to achieve their business goals. You will also collaborate with our clients to identify and resolve observability challenges, optimize system performance, and enhance user experiences.

As a Observability Engineer in Kloia you will:

- Conduct thorough assessments of client IT infrastructure and applications to identify observability gaps and opportunities.

- Develop and implement customized observability solutions tailored to each client's unique requirements and challenges.

- Design, implement, and maintain observability dashboards and reports to provide clients with actionable insights into system performance and health.

- Train and mentor client teams on the use of observability tools and best practices.

- Provide expert advice on observability strategies, integrations, and optimization techniques.

What would an average day look like?

Daily schedule can vary depending on the organization's demands, project requirements, and team structure. However, here's a broad outline of what an Observability Engineer  might do on a typical day:

  •  Check emails and Slack messages: Start your day by reviewing your emails and Slack messages to get a sense of what's happening and what needs your attention.
  • Meet with team members to discuss upcoming projects: Discuss upcoming projects with your team members to ensure everyone is on the same page and to identify any potential challenges.
  •  Conduct a client assessment: Meet with a client to conduct a thorough assessment of their IT infrastructure and applications to identify observability gaps and opportunities.
  •  Lunch break: Take a break to eat lunch and recharge.
  •  Develop and implement a customized observability solution: Work on designing and implementing a customized observability solution for a client, taking into account their unique requirements and challenges.
  •  Analyze telemetry data to identify performance issues: Use various observability tools to analyze telemetry data from a client's infrastructure and applications to identify any performance issues.
  • Document observability solutions and best practices: Document the observability solutions you have implemented for clients, including best practices and recommendations.
  • Wrap up the day and prepare for tomorrow: Review your progress for the day and prepare for the next day's tasks.

Who should apply?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in observability engineering, consulting, or a related field.
  • Proven expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining observability platforms.
  • Deep understanding of logging, tracing, and metrics collection tools.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Grafana, Kibana, and Enterprise APM tools.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, Go, or Java.
  • In-depth understanding of container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes. 

  • Cloud knowledge AWS, Azure or GCP, 

  • Legacy system knowledge like .net or Java, Node.js. 

  • Expert-level experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, and/or Enterprise APM tools.

  • Proven experience in monitoring and troubleshooting distributed systems.
